Mark is one of the most sought after professionals within the music industry, with over 20 years of experience, and a unique ability to captivate audiences through his passion for singing.
Mark’s fondness of music began at an early age, teaching himself piano and leading his local church youth choir. His natural ability to motivate others was evident throughout his studies at Colchester Institute, where he directed and performed with a multitude of ensembles. Following this, Mark graduated the Central School of Speech and Drama with a MA in Voice Studies, and subsequently obtained a PGCE in Music Education from the Institute of Education.
He is the proud musical director of award-winning ACM Gospel Choir, who were semifinalists in the BBC’s Last Choir Standing in 2008, and winners of the Urban Music Award for Best Gospel Act in 2013. The choir have since recorded three studio albums, and regularly perform at a range of public, private and corporate events, bringing a fresh slant to gospel and contemporary staples.
Mark’s love of teaching has led him to work at an array of institutions internationally, including The BRIT School and the University of Westminster. He has delivered workshops and seminars to a variety of organisations, such as Barclays, Allianz and McLaren, inspiring others with his positive and infectious spirit.
Founder of Singology; Mark successfully provides the 200 members of 9 London based community choirs with a creative avenue of expression and belonging, helping to bring local communities together through song.
Mark has fulfilled numerous roles such as vocal coach and musical director on a variety of TV programmes including Our Dementia Choir (BBC1), This is My Song (BBC1), Pitch Battle (BBC1), All Together Now (BBC1) and Songs of Praise (BBC1). He is also an established author with a plethora of published books.

Alongside teaching, choral directing, arranging and numerous TV appearances, Mark is also an established author, with an eight-book series entitled ‘Sing Out: Pop Songs for Today’s Choirs’ and has just published ‘100 Ways to Inspire Your Choir’ with Bloomsbury.
Mark’s choral arrangements are sung all over the world in a unique 9 book series called Sing Out! Pop Songs for Today’s Choirs. He is also the co-author of Inspire Your Choir (100 Ways To Raise The Bar).

Mark has worked on many TV programmes and contributed to many radio shows. Including Children In Need (BBC1), Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure), and The Voice UK (BBC1).
